Edmonton's flat roof specialists
Rain Roofing does commercial flat roofing in Edmonton and nothing else. We install, replace, repair and maintain low-slope roofs on warehouses, plants, schools, offices and retail plazas across the region, from Acheson and Nisku to Fort Saskatchewan.
A flat roof here has a hard job. It carries snow for months, cycles through freeze and thaw, holds spring melt and takes summer hail. We build for those conditions from the deck up, put every warranty in writing, and stay with the roof for its whole life through inspections, maintenance and a phone that gets answered at 2 a.m.
Why owners choose Rain
Four commitments we make on every building, from a small repair to a 400,000 sq ft distribution centre.

Flat roof systems
We install every major low-slope system and tell you plainly which one suits your roof, your budget and an Edmonton winter.

Flat roof system
Two-ply modified bitumen, the proven Alberta standard for hail, cold and rooftop traffic.

Flat roof system
Heat-welded single-ply membrane built for large, open warehouse and distribution roofs.

Flat roof system
Synthetic rubber membrane that stays flexible in deep cold, with few seams and a long record.

Flat roof system
Heat-welded single-ply membrane for roofs exposed to grease, oils and chemical exhaust.

Flat roof system
Repair, maintenance and replacement for the tar and gravel roofs on older Edmonton buildings.

Flat roof system
Protected membrane roofs for concrete decks, plazas and parkades, with the membrane shielded from weather.

Metal roofing and cladding
Standing seam metal roofs and wall cladding for sloped roofs, canopies and industrial envelopes.
Anatomy of a flat roof
Every layer has a job. Skip one, or install it carelessly, and the roof fails early. This is the assembly we build and warranty.
We stand behind every roof
Most roofers hand over a manufacturer's certificate and disappear. We spell out who covers what, for how long, and we keep you compliant so the cover stays valid.
Repair or replace
Ponding, blisters and open seams on one side. Slope, drainage and a sealed, warrantied membrane on the other.

Services
One crew for the whole life of the roof, from new construction to the 2 am leak.

Most flat roof leaks start in the same few places: seams, flashings, drains and penetrations. Edmonton's climate works on all of them. Water gets into a small gap in the fall, freezes and opens it wider. Snow hides the problem for months, then spring melt ponds on the low spots and finds the gap.
We start with drainage: tapered insulation, crickets and correctly set drains that move water off the roof. Then we choose the membrane for the building, from 2-ply SBS for cold and hail to TPO, PVC or EPDM where they fit better. The field of a roof rarely leaks. The details do, so that is where our crews spend their time.

A warranty is only as useful as the company behind it, so we stack three. The manufacturer covers the materials, and on qualifying systems an NDL (no dollar limit) warranty covers the whole system. We cover our own workmanship for 10 years. As an ARCA member, we can also issue an ARCA Warranty Certificate of 5, 10 or 15 years, independently inspected and backed by ARCA Warranty Ltd after the first two years.
At closeout you receive a warranty file with every certificate, the as-built details and the maintenance requirements, so your coverage never depends on someone's memory.

A flat roof that gets checked twice a year lasts longer than one that gets checked after it leaks. Our preventive maintenance program covers spring and fall inspections, drain and scupper clearing, sealant and flashing touch-ups, and a written report with photos for your files.
When something does go wrong, call our emergency line. We answer 24/7 and a crew is on site within 4 hours to stop the water, protect the building and document the damage. The permanent repair follows, and the record goes in your roof's file.

Our clients manage buildings for a living. Property managers with a portfolio of plazas. Plant managers who cannot shut down a line for a leak. General contractors who need a roofing trade that arrives prequalified and finishes on schedule. School boards and institutions with tight summer windows and public tenders.
We work across the region: the northwest industrial areas along the Highway 16 corridor, Strathcona Industrial Park, Nisku and Leduc, Acheson, Fort Saskatchewan and the Industrial Heartland, Sherwood Park, St. Albert, Spruce Grove and Stony Plain.

Questions
No. Rain Roofing works only on commercial and industrial buildings, and most of that work is flat and low-slope roofing. That focus means our crews, equipment and suppliers are set up for the roofs you actually manage.
It depends on the building. 2-ply SBS is the regional workhorse because it handles cold and hail well. TPO and PVC suit reflective or chemical-resistant needs, and EPDM suits large, simple roofs. We recommend a system after checking the deck, insulation and drainage.
Our emergency line is answered 24/7. For active leaks we aim to have a crew on site within 4 hours anywhere in the Edmonton region to make the roof watertight and protect what is underneath.
Yes. We are registered with ISNetworld, Avetta and ComplyWorks and hold a Certificate of Recognition (COR). Our safety program, insurance certificates and WCB clearance letter are available on request.
A recover over the existing roof can save money, but only if the deck and insulation are dry. We check with a moisture or infrared survey first. Wet insulation trapped under a new membrane keeps damaging the roof and can put the new warranty at risk.
Send us drawings, a spec or just an address. You get a clear scope, a written warranty and a roofer who answers the phone in a storm.
